Hi, I’m Josie!
I’m so happy you’re here! I’m looking forward to getting to know you. If you need to reach me you can email me at Josie@ParentingNotPerfection.com or DM me on Instagram @ParentingNotPerfection.
I’m blessed to be a Mom of 2 beautiful girls.
I first became a Mom at 18. I was a single parent for a decade, while working and going to college. It was challenging. But I love a challenge and my daughter and I built a strong connection as we grew together.
Now, I’ve been married to my best friend since 2009. My oldest is all grown up and about to become a Mom herself (yes, I’m about to be a 40-year-old Grandma 😮 ) I also homeschool my youngest; and I am loving every minute of it.
Professionally, I graduated with my Masters Degree in 2006 and became an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher & Parent Educator.
I love working with children, but my real joy is working with parents. I love being able to pass on the knowledge and experiences I’ve learned; to help other parents succeed.
I am not a parenting expert. I don’t believe anyone can really be one. Every parent is different. Every child is different. Every experience is unique.
We are all learning, all the time. We need to support each other in this process. There is no perfect solution. This is why I named my blog Parenting Not Perfection.
I am a Children’s Book Enthusiast & Bookish Play Advocate!
My blog is for parents who love children’s books, are willing to let their kids get messy sometimes and who want to connect with their children through bookish play.
I share tips that have worked for me as both a Mom and as a Special Educator.
Please take what you like and leave the rest.
I also offer access to a FREE Printables Library for email subscribers only.
Each activity comes with a FREE, easy to print, PDF file that includes…
1. “Materials We Used” (a list of materials) +
